Horse Spleen Apoferritin has been exploited to deliver simultaneously therapeutic and imaging agents to breast cancer cells via the ferritin transporting route. The selective uptake has been investigated by MRI, and exploited for the simultaneous delivery of Curcumin, a compound with strong anti-neoplastic and anti-inflammatory action.
