A facile, solution-based approach to the synthesis of polytypic Cu₂ CdSn(S_1-x Se_x )₄ (CCTSSe) nanocrystals with zinc blende (ZB)-derivative selectively engineered on (000+/-2)_WZ facets of wurtzite (WZ)-derived cores is reported.
