The self-assembly properties of chemically-tailored neutral phosphorescent rhenium-based metallo-amphiphiles have been efficiently employed for preparing well-defined mono-disperse soft structures with photoluminescence quantum yield up to 0.2 in air-equilibrated aqueous media.
