Radius-voltage relation of graphene bubbles controlled by gate voltage

Weihua Mu, Gang Zhang, and Zhong-can Ou-Yang

Graphene on the substrate can form bubbles rising above the sheet. In some cases, the bubbles is a perfect spherical surface crown, and its radius can be adjusted by external electric field. In this manuscript, we theoretically investigate the voltage dependence of the spherical bubble's radius. T ... [Appl. Phys. Lett. 103, 053112 (2013)] published Wed Jul 31, 2013.

Evidence for adsorbate-enhanced field emission from carbon nanotube fibers

P. T. Murray, T. C. Back, and M. M. Cahay et al.

We used residual gas analysis (RGA) to identify the species desorbed during field emission (FE) from a carbon nanotube (CNT) fiber. The RGA data show a sharp threshold for H2 desorption at an external field strength that coincides with a breakpoint in the FE data. A comprehensive model for the gra ... [Appl. Phys. Lett. 103, 053113 (2013)] published Wed Jul 31, 2013.

A. M. Grishin, A. A. Velichko, and A. Jalalian

Non-woven bead-free 100 μm long and 80–200 nm in diameter highly crystalline orthorhombic T-Nb2O5 nanofibers were sintered by sol-gel assisted electrospinning technique. Electrical and dielectric spectroscopy tests of individual fibers clamped onto Pt coated Si substrate were performed using a spr ... [Appl. Phys. Bulge test at nano-scale: The surface effects

Tongqing Lu, Chao Chen, and Kejie Zhao et al.

Bulge test is an effective technique to measure the mechanical properties of thin films. As the membrane size decreases to nano-scale, the surface effect plays a significant role in determining the mechanical behavior of the membrane, and the techniques commonly used to measure the bulk materials ...
