Solar-light-active N-F co-doped titania inverse opals with tunable photonic stop bands have been fabricated. The TiO2 inverse opals were found to be superior photocatalysts for dye degradation under daylight irradiation due to the synergic effect of N-F co-doping and the slow photon effect.
