Study on the thermal stability improvement of GeTe by Al doping

Kun Ren, Feng Rao, and Zhitang Song et al.

Al-doped GeTe is proposed for high-temperature phase-change memories (PCM). The bonding and coordination environment of Al atoms in Al2.7Ge50Te50 is studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance. The large number of bonds provided by Al improves the stability of the am ... [Appl. Phys. Lett. 103, 093111 (2013)] published Fri Aug 30, 2013.

Photoluminescence modulation of ZnO via coupling with the surface plasmon resonance of gold nanoparticles

Dongyan Zhang, Hiroki Ushita, and Pangpang Wang et al.

In this letter, we study how coupling between AuNPs and ZnO thin films affects their emission properties. The emission intensity of ZnO thin films changes when Al2O3 spacer layer of different thickness is included in ZnO/Au films, consistent with theoretical predictions. The emission properties ar ... Selective resonant interaction between confined excitons and folded acoustic phonons in GaAs/AlAs multi-quantum wells

B. Jusserand

We demonstrate strongly resonant selective interaction between confined excitons and folded acoustic phonons in multi-quantum wells and quantitatively reproduce each scattered spectrum based on the resonant interaction with a single periodized confined exciton. We emphasize the possible impact of ... [Appl. Phys. Lett. 103, 093112 (2013)] published Fri Aug 30, 2013.

Nanoparticle size and morphology control using ultrafast laser induced forward transfer of Ni thin films

Ryan D. Murphy, Michael J. Abere, and Keegan J. Schrider et al.

We have developed a nanoparticle (NP) printing technique using Ni thin film lift-off from glass substrates after ultrafast irradiation in air. Unique interactions of ultrafast laser pulses with thin films allow for control over NP faceting and size distributions. Control is achieved by changing th ... [Appl. Phys. Lett. 103, 093113 (2013)] published Fri Aug 30, 2013.
