Realization of graphene field-effect transistor with high-κ HCa2Nb3O10 nanoflake as top-gate dielectric

Wenwu Li, Song-Lin Li, and Katsuyoshi Komatsu et al.

A high-quality HCa2Nb3O10 (HCNO) nanoflake (εr = 9.1) consisting of high-κ perovskite nanosheets is adopted as a gate dielectric for graphene-based electronics. A dual-gated device was physically constructed by directly dry-transferring a 22-nm-thick HCNO nanoflake as a top gate dielectric onto gr ... [Appl. Phys. Lett. 103, 023113 (2013)] published Fri Jul 12, 2013.

Small onset voltages in negative corona discharges using the edges of gold and aluminum foils as nano-structured electrodes

A. Eifert, T. Baier, and S. Hardt

Gold and aluminum foils with nano-structured edges were investigated as electrodes for corona discharges in nitrogen and ambient air. Low onset voltages were observed due to the field enhancement near the edges of the foil. The lowest onset voltage was determined to be about 1.2 kV in ambient air ... [Appl. Phys. Lett. 103, 023114 (2013)] published Fri Jul 12, 2013.

Stress-induced growth of single-crystalline lead telluride nanowires and their thermoelectric transport properties

Dedi, Ping-Chung Lee, and Chia-Hua Chien et al.

Uniform single-crystal lead telluride (PbTe) nanowires (NWs) were synthesized using a stress-induced method, which is an alternative technique for synthesizing PbTe NWs without a catalyst. The thermoelectrical transport measurement of a NW with a diameter of 217 nm exhibited a notable enhancement ... [Appl. Phys. Lett. 103, 023115 (2013)] published Fri Jul 12, 2013.
