Modifying mesoporous silica nanoparticles to avoid the metabolic deactivation of 6-mercaptopurine and methotrexate in combinatorial chemotherapy

Mesoporous silica nanoparticles with methotrexate and 6-mercaptopurine, 6-MP-MSNSN-MTX, were prepared, which in the presence of DTT releases 6-MP, while in rat plasma it effectively inhibits the metabolic deactivation of 6-MP and MTX.
