An ISFET under dual gate operation (DG ISFET) was developed for the label-free detection of hepatitis B surface antigen. A fundamental problem of standard ISFET, low sensitivity from short Debye screening length in undiluted media, was explicitly solved by tailoring the nanostructure of the transistor.
