Cuprous oxide nanoparticles inhibit angiogenesis via down regulation of VEGFR2 expression

VEGFR2, a receptor of the vascular endothelial growth factor, is a key regulator of angiogenesis through activating downstream pathways. By inhibiting VEGFR2 expression, CO-NPs could suppress VEGFR2 mediated downstream pathways activation thus inhibiting the formation of new blood vessels.
